I have erased my partition with Feisty (beta) and then upgraded Edgy to

I have a Dell Inspiron 700m on which I have a similar problem, i.e.

I have exactly the same problem. But when I tried to open a movie with
Totem, there was sound. The same is true with vlc media player. I get
an error message from Amarok though, which uses xine:
xine was unable to initialize any audio drivers
This is my soundcard:

Before this, it's worked fine, but after upgrading to Feisty I notice
two anomalies:

Same thing with a Canon Lide 30
When starting xsane from GImp and asking for a preview, it does the preview but
leaves the sensor head it the middle and then does not answer anymore.
Then when you close xsane and start it again, the sensor head moves a bit as to
go in initial place but stops aga
Script-fu is there because of a previous installation. please apt-get remove
--purge the package and try to reinstall it from -proposed to see if it still
happens
