This workaround also worked for me. Feisty value was us-101, was blank on edgy. Created new bogus value (easy since kbd is munged) of c.b and removed us-101 entry. exited the editor. btw, to bring up the gconf- editor, navigate thru the places menu to /usr/bin/gconf-editor and double click it.
