I do not recommend the use of dougfractal's above script.
It rendered my system unusable, with Xorg broken, the ati driver package
broken and no means of restoring it, with the backups all pointing to
the destroyed ati driver.

As far as I know, SIGTRAP means a point where the program expects a
debugger to step in and help. Obviously, this is not the case, so the
process dies.

Word to the wise:
I think this bug is connected to an underlying lack of control of DNS
settings by network-manager. It seems like the daemons NM invokes
(openvpn, dhcp3, etc.) modify resolv.conf on their own accord in a way
that's not controlled by or compatible with NM. For example, see

as stated in the thread mention by Snah Nosrovlah, the upstream version has
fixed the bug. I droped-in their cvs and rebuilded the package. kino starts now
(but at least one file overlaps with kinoplus).
Please consider using cvs from upstream.
