I have now packaged CUPS with an alternative USB backend which does not

from archives it's broken - I think since dapper or edgy.

Hi,
I don't know exactly why this happens, but this issue has surely been
fixed since v.0.03, because you can now define your own media folders
and the management of the latter has thus completely changed. I'm not
sure whether a new version will make its way into Ubuntu since the
features freeze
The suggested kernel patch pointed to by kurt
(http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/5/8/510) was added to the mainline kernel in
2.6.22.2 and is in Gutsy.
Therefore if this issue is still occurring on Gutsy Tribe-5 we need to
look more closely. Please attach the DSDT of the system using:
$ sudo apt-get
In the mean while I've got a workaround to share. It look likes we need
to reload autofs with the network refresh of NetworkManager. Maybe these
files can be added to the package as a bugfix. It is not me to decide
that:
