When I try to configure via device webcam settings in Kopete, I get a
green-video-box.
If I run kopete from shell I have this output:
$ kopete
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized
Well, Ubuntu is not the only distribution - openSUSE is also doing it
(I'm gonna have to file a bug report there as well). Other than that, I
fully agree with Florin. What about creating an option in the control
center that allows the user to enable and disable the periodic fsck? The
default value
Martijn's workaround works for me but I'm unable to make the setting
permanent. Can someone help me out with how it's to be done.

What I have noticed is that X seem to stop reading xorg.conf properly

I hope your tests show the new ACPI driver to be stable with vesa but
personally I'd be inclined to sacrifice the nvidia driver for vesa if it
meant I got hibernate/suspend. Once that's working hopefully it then
becomes a matter of getting nvidia to fix

With vesa driver, suspend to ram works for me.
However, I can't get the full 1920x1200 for now, fighting on it right now.
Of course the only real solutions is a better nvidia driver, but suspend/resume
is more important for me than the performance advantage of the nvidia driver.
With AMD/ATI
I didn't use the work around because I wanted to check whether the next
release fixed it for me (and it wasn't stopping other packages
upgrading).
I'm happy to say that 9.0.48.0.0ubuntu10 fixed the problem for me, nice
work folks!

X not starting
One more confirmation. I have this issue on fresh installation of
Medibuntu Feisty LTSP.
I am trying to avoid this issue by not updating dbus and dbus-utils
after installation. This did not help.
First symptom: Gnome settings daemon is giving an error when logging in
first time after updates and
