Hi All!
Same problem here, I cant minimize, maximize, or close the windows, ALT-
Tab doesn't work also.
I found that if I enable desktop-effects the problem totally disappears, from
this I think it is related to metacity package.

Portege 3440 CT (mobile pentium III 500 MHz, 192 MB ram.) It ran well on

I am 99% sure that this patch wouldn't (/shouldn't) do any good
because CONFIG_SUSPEND_SMP is still used in Gutsy's 2.6.22-14-generic
kernel. So the patch effectively disables the powermanagement
facilities of the fglrx module if applied to a kernel earlier than
2.6.23.

I've got this problem too. I suspect that it's a compiz problem because
it persists with the i810 driver. I've disabled compiz in the meantime,
and suspend works for me.
I've just upgraded through update-manager -d to gutsy. Didn't have this

I got my sound card to work by installing the latest release candidate
of Alsa. I followed the instructions at http://www.alsa-
project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Module-hda-intel but downloaded
1.0.15rc versions from http://www.alsa-
project.org/main/index.php/Download instead of 1.0.14 versions an
