What happens on the box I just built using an old Realtek 8139 card I
had lying around is that the 8139too driver will load. But, after using
the network for a while, the whole computer will hang.
I finally figured out to swap the Realtek 8139 card out for a Linksys
and my computer is running
I randomly face the same issue, let's say once every 2 weeks. If I log
in again, the issue /seems/ to be fixed but the GNOME panel crashes
quickly when I use any application launcher. The only real solution I
found is to reboot.

I tryed to start installation wiht noapic, irqpoll and noirqdebug, but the
system freezes the note while performing installation.

I agree, trackerd should NOT be enabled by default. However nice it
might be in theory, right now it's much too buggy and hogs too much
memory and disk.
Frankly I'm amazed that it got into a default install of Gutsy in this
state. Jamie McCracken, do you not care about all the users who complain
