I have spent hours messing with System-Preferences-Sound. On Feisty I
had several custom sounds I was using and I want to use them with Gutsy.

If I enable compiz, the notes dissappear left-clicking in the desktop but if I

I remember I faced the the same problem after having installed the
Kubuntu 7.10. If I am not mistaken this was the complete procedure how I
reached a good solution:
1) I Plugged in an USB drive formatted ntfs and waited till the drive's icon
appeared on the desktop.
2) Then I Right clicked the

As you can see, I can access my FTP using gnome/nautilus with no

Found mention somewhere of apt's cache being too small, so I tried to

works fine, maybe an Ubuntu specific problem, thanks.

Lucas - yes, that's what windows does, last I checked (windows 2000).
Mac OS X, last I checked (a bit more recently) just creates a file on
the desktop.
FWIW, I'd prefer the MAC-esque always save in this folder without
prompting approach...
