As of in gutsy (7.10) compiz is standard and people will use, like me,
the desktop as transparent terminal as explained in

It works very pleasant to have my terminal in the 'background'. But I miss a

Similar problems here on an AMD 1.8GHz w/ 1GB of RAM. It is definitely

I can confirm this on my Acer 3690 (Intel chipset) in Gutsy. It starts
out in the center, then jumps maybe 150px to the right and a few pixels
down when the full border is drawn. (That is, it starts with the white

am not aware of what video player you used to play it. The video played
fine with totem and if i recall correctly the plugin for gstreamer that
handles this codec is in the gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg package. Please
install that

Funny thing, I am printing mails fine with a good font. But when I try to print
tasks, I get the described result.
That's not really usable, especially when you have a long text in a task, Evo
doesn't make any line break.

When I turn it down the hizz is less but also the sound. So I guess I
have to live with it.
I have another problem as well. The recordning volume is ok in gnome-
sound-recorder but not in x-lite or ekiga where's it's way low. Can I do
something about that?
