Ok, I can confirm the resolution issue. Dexconf failing to write an
xorg.conf is now fixed, but it doesn't fix this bug. The server uses
800x600 since it defaults to hsync range of 31.50-37.90kHz, and vrefresh
range 50-70 Hz.
I'll investigate it further.

Well, I upgraded all the machines to feisty back 2 months ago, and all

Everyone in my office uses VMWare Fusion 1.1 to run Ubuntu ( although a
few brave souls have gone native ).
We've all run into this bug one by one. Most have settled for the
disable-roaming workaround. I tried this, and couldn't get it to work.
I had to manually run: ifconfig eth0 up & dhclient.

I think I'm seeing something similar, ever since upgrading to Gutsy.
Athlon64 X2 running 32-bit Ubuntu Server (so no X, NVIDIA drivers, etc)
With 2.6.22-14-server after a few hours it locks up. It's as if all disk
activity stops - any task that tries to access a disk will hang. No
error messages
The root cause for this bug is in package foomatic-db-hpijs.
The file foomatic-db-hpijs-20070813/data-generators/hpijs/hpijs-printermap does
not contain LaserJet 1000, 1018 and 1020 printers.

Hi Kim, everybody,
Try open nvidia-settings (type it on the terminal) and change resolution from
there. Make sure you hit the button "Save to xorg..." or whatever and it might
work this way. It did for me.

stable release update (SRU) and the nomination is therefore declined.

It haven't fixed it for me either. Still crashes with above steps. Also
image is weird on shutdown. Ubuntu logo is rendered in stripes and
repeated across the screen several times
