I attempted to install 7.10 on my laptop which has an outboard USB drive.
While installing I didn't notice it was installing to the outboard drive(which
cannot be use to boot). After the installation I checked the outboard drive

using tmpfs for /tmp (but not /var/tmp) is a reasonable setup for most
desktops?
Sounds especially important for laptops - where frequent disk access

[hardy] progress bar resets after pause - play sequence
I have also experienced X lock-ups with the new 8.3 xserver-xorg-core.
In a period of 2 hours, I had to reboot 3 times due to these lockups.

Did you try giving hdapsd two -d options? If this does not work, I'll try to

tried to play a flash file
I'd really appreciate some advice...
I've tried all the fixes on this page for the folder mismatch even

It's almost certainly caused by screen -- the mentioned termcapinfo line
(also a variant is commented out in screenrc) fixes the problem. Maybe
we should consider shipping that by default :)

OK. As I wrote above, I've been running xfdesktop4 (4.4.2-2ubuntu1)
since Thursday, as per Lionel's request.
There is still a massive memory leak. xfdesktop and xfce4-menu-plugin
each still leak memory horribly; xfce4-panel does not (as said in the
posts above).
