I have noticed that this Problem does not occur from start but happens after

I've got exactly the same problem since kernel 2.6-22 (when I moved to

I made a fresh install based on the beta of Hardy and took done hardware
elements that were not essential.

While the external USB drive accumulated mountpoints with prepended
underscores as in the original report, the internal NTFS partition

shares-admin is now installed by default again, however there is no icon
in the System / Administration menu, should we consider this as a bug or
shares-admin will stay hidden?

after entering your password synaptic should appear and you CPU usage
should return to normal.

If the git changelog is not misleading those merges should have made it
into -16. However there have been config updates later (which changed
config options since there has been FTBS errors).

Same problem but...
I had a hard time trying to put X server to run and here's the
workaround that worked for me (UniChrome Pro IGP - VIA P4M800Pro - VIA
VT3314 on a Gateway laptop). I just manually included several
information in xorg.conf. Here's the clue:
