I have to agree with you I have Hardy though I do see many improvements
this is a major concern but it appears this is not resolved. I have gone
through 3 drives already but sadly Ubuntu cannot get this fix they will
loose user's hard drives for laptops are not cheap.

Oh, on, the artifacts of the last post were my fault. I had tried to
temporarily disable the shadows, but put the x- and y- offset sliders
fully negative instead of zero. The pink artifacts appearing above and
to the left of windows were in fact shadows.

had to have DRI disabled in order to be able to rotate the screen. On

Same problem in Hardy with KDE 3.5.9. I have default associations for
.avi files set to Kaffeine first, xine second. I set associations to
xine first, then Kaffeine. When I close and reopen the setting dialog
again, assocoations are back to Kaffeine, xine. Annoying.

I checked my /var/lib/locales/supported.d/local.
It contains these two lines:
en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
eo ISO-8859-3
The last line should not be there at all (as far as I understand).
Instead we should probably have:
en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
eo_XX.UTF-8 UTF-8

While upgrading from gutsy to hardy update-manager stops at the end of
installation-phase.
The error message recommends to do dpkg-reconfigure -a and report the bug at
launchpad.
Here we go. I'm doing the dpkg-reconfigere -a while
Also confirmed. Can be seen at least when opening Firefox.
