I did run into a strange problem where selecting the ALSA output plugin
within the Crossfade plugin caused audacious to lock up, twice, when I
started
kmilo cause a crash.
It happens when i press one of the multimedia keys: Calculator, Search, Mail,
Home.
Volume keys do not cause the crash.
The crash show a message:
KDE Daemon (kded) crashed with signal 11.
I cannot obtain a good backtrace because i don't know what debuggin symbols to
use.
This same problem happens to me on a fresh install of 8.04 release as
well. It is misleading because domain login will work after joining the
domain with the likewise open gui but then fails after system reboot. I
assume this is because the gui starts winbindd but on reboot winbind
does not
I have the same problem with kernel 2.6.24-16 on my Sony VGN-C2S. I removed the

I think Brasero is needed because it's the only thing that lets you burn
an audio CD, for example. Previously Serpentine was used for that but it

I think these were some remnants from alpha/beta bugs, as they do not reoccur
after deleting all remaining USB device by hand from
/media/

sudo nautilus
and rebooting the system before and after and again.
Not all names were deletable though, but they either dissapeared after reboot

Just found another site talking about the freeze with the 2.6.18 and the

Same by my configuration.
Scenarios:
1. the same
2. if plugged in after logging nothing happens but the window of proprietary
drivers opens (three files in the usb stick). When I run the .inf the usb stick
tries to connect via wireless to internet. After that is all as described in
scenario
I made more tests and it appears that I got confused somewhere... Now
all my machines are up-to-date and everything is ok. False alert, sorry.
For me the bug is to close. Thank you for your help.

I installed 169.12 driver with EnvyNG on Ubuntu 8.04. Same problem as
before. The screen freezes randomly, maybe once 2-3 times an hour, it
will usually return to normal (unfreeze) after 20+ seconds. Once in
awhile, computer will spontaneously reboot.
I haven't tried the other two Nvidia

Hello,
after my upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 my touchpad on the notebook isn't recognized
anymore.
Since I installed Ubuntu first time with Drapper Drake and through all
upgrades I never had this problem.
I found in the forums:
