Removing the sensors-applet solved the problem for me! I still didn't
experience either this bug nor the touchpad losing sync at all since I

I do have the same problem. Worked fine with 7.10 before and now with
kernel 2.6.24-17 I receive the same error.

i can confirm this bug. I have compiled a new kernel with the actual
config-file 2.6.24-16 under /boot and after that the sound was not
working at all. After a new compilation the sound is working again.

Same problem here, using an Epson 2400 Perfection Photo flatbet scanner.
Weird - I remember it working once (xsane started up correctly) before
applying online updates. Can this be a bug introduced by an online
update?
