Sometimes my HDD remains mounted at /media/disk and figures in /etc/mtab
even though it's disconnected. When i connect the HDD again, it is
mounted at /media/disk-1 instead of /media/disk which remains empty and
there is no way to unmount it using the umount command.
In future, please try to keep the bug description short and attach the
file rather than pasting them inline. It makes it easier to follow the

I followed the instructions in the link suggested by McPeter. They were
clear, simple and they worked! The disadvantage is that you have to
repeat the process after any kernel upgrades.

though, but I found this link, which suggests deleting download history
using Tools - Clear Private Data when you experience problems

I just manually updated the driver version from 1.2.25 (version shipped
in latest 2.6.24-19 kernel) to version 1.2.26k from compat-
wireless-2008-07-04. Now network manages to re-authenticate smoothly on
resume
how to disable it via gconf for all users (even new/lateron created
ones)?
It would be good if the dependency to ubuntu-desktop could be removed.
