What version of Ubuntu are you using? Is this still an issue?
I've mostly moved to using Hardy now.
Unfortunately I can no longer recall exactly what I was doing that meant I
got bitten by this problem in the first place :-( but the hardy laptop I'm

I had a lockup this morning where the numlock, scroll-lock and speed
switch light flashed repeatedly. The system was completely unusable
including the power switch. I had to pull the power and battery to turn
the laptop off. When I restarted, the bug re-appeared although not as

ASUS eeePC 900... wireless worked great until the fateful update that
removed ath5k. Installing the backported modules got it working again.
Since everybody in this thread has a vested interest in seeing this

As we just discovered on IRC, Jamie actually had an updated version of
the config and mine was the package version, so Jamie's updated config
will have to make it into the clamav-daemon package at some point to

account anymore. If I try to delete the search location pointing to the

I'm sorry, the clamav-daemon test case is invalid as the version in
intrepid does not contain the nameservice line in
/etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin/clamd (I had a modified clamd profile installed
that included the line). clamav-freshclam does have the nameservice line
however. Here is the correct test

I can confirm grub displays as expected and I can use the virtual
terminals when ubuntu has loaded

I have just removed blueman (completely, with config) and I can send
files to devices, pair with them. It looks like blueman (it register
itself as security manger for bluetooth) cannot act well with new
bluetooth applets from 8.10.

Hi, after upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 rhythmbox does not longer shows my
creative zen 1 GB when I plug It. The devices is correctly mounted by
gnome, i can see the icon on the desktop and I get prompted if I want to
open rhythmbox.
Is this a different bug or still related with this one?

Does anyone know if letting acpid dealing with this is the correct way?
Shouldn't HAL expose this to higher level applications, like for example
gnome's power manager or KDE4's Powerdevil?
