Usually, System - Einstellungen - Bildschirmauflösung tells you what
kind of screen you have. In this case, that tool only says Unbekannt,
meaning unknown screen type. (The max resolution, however, has been
identified ok and has automatically been chosen).

I just upgraded to jaunty and I confirm this bug, pidgin refuses to
connect to ICQ account. Firefox was unable to resolve almost any url.
network.dns.disableIPv6 = true, fixed it. I haven't found yet another
applications that reproduce the same problem.

Yes, for instance 15s wouldn't hurt, I think. On the other hand, maybe
there is something in the mga driver that takes unreasonably long to
start. In newest Jaunty we have timestamping in the X log, so we can get
an idea what takes time. If you have a chance to test Jaunty later,
please upload the
please check your localstore.rdf permissions if you still see this. We
should look into using something else as a base timeline for startup i
think. This is definitly on my jaunty radar.

I'm also experiencing this issue. I just upgraded to Jaunty and tested
the following applications :
- apt, Failed to fetch
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jaunty/Release.gpg Could not resolve
'archive.ubuntu.com'
- pidgin, connects to GTalk (gmail.com), but refuses to connect to ICQ
Security fixes are handled through the security update process, not
through backports.
