So, I have also a Toshiba Satellite L40. It was stuck before the first
attempt, when performing the SuspendResume test, which is embedded in
the Jaunty beta.
I guess it has to be something with the Wifi card, which is
great - works for me, BUT i had to update the UUID (mdadm --detail, not
vol_id /dev/md...) in /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf for it to assemble on boot,
because I had had to recreate it each time I booted. This won't of
course affect people who go straight to the fixed mdadm from intrepid.

scrolling with a touchpad, so perhaps they are all related to the
synaptics driver.

i have the same Problems.
for example if i edit a file with vim the scrolling throught the file is
very slow, it updates the screen only every lets say 0.3 secons
what other logfiles do you need.
