On a clean Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop installation, I installed ubuntu-xen-
desktop.
After installing and rebooting, it still doesn't work because it
requires Python 2.5 which was not in the dependency list.

After upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04 beta, cups-pdf printing was no longer
installed. The other printer (Brother HL-1440) was still installed and
working properly, but the PDF option was missing. I was able to resolve
the issue by doing an apt-get cups-pdf.

I'm sorry Dimitrios, I have switched to a different solution and the
machine has been in production for some time now so I don't have it
handy to test a more recent Ubuntu.
It really is a deadly serious bug though which prevents using Ubuntu on
servers with huge amounts of RAM. If I buy any new h
toto2 is a winner! A few notes:
1) The first few times I ran it, it crashed with stack smashing errors when I
started an echo test. However, I haven't been able to replicate it since.
2) The first time I entered preferences, it gave two pango/utf8 errors, and

I formated this usb stick since the past several install tests for UNR

So I tried to use Kubuntu Jaunty RC LiveCD on 3 different machines and 2
different Access Points and KDE4 NetWorkManager failed horribly - HP
Mini (Broadcom WL module was loaded automatically) , HP 6910p (Intel
4965AGN) , Macbook Pro2,2 (
64bit version works well for me too.
I gave it the acid test with fireforx and opened up 15+ tabs with

getting past the mirror step. It keeps on asking me to choose a valid

While I completely agree that they shouldn't show up, the question is
how to detect them. If we filter on the name "Nickserv" and someone,
for what ever reason, had that as their handle you wouldn't see messages
from them.
So, I guess while I agree at the intention, I'm unsure of a strategy

Public bug reported:
c: has winXP e: has ubuntu 8.10
after ubuntu install, ran update manager (219 updates). Pretty soon it told me
there was a crash, which I did not write down. Subsequent attempts to run
update manager work, until there is just one update left - it always fails like
this:
Using Jaunty, RC1. Detected when running lsusb as:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 05c6:9211 Qualcomm, Inc.
However, network manager does not recognize it.
Note - also did not work on 8.10, or 9.04 A4 - RC1
If I can provide additional info, please let me know.

The xorg.conf file is the same, I will attach it tomorrow when I get
access to the hardware.
I've tried the binary drivers and the instructions to get them going in
Hardy are not trivial and they require manipulation of several system
files. It is not a package that can be easil
Bryce, when trying to update that driver to your PPA version earlier
today I was told I already had the latest xserver-xorg-video-intel.
I'll double check tomorrow.
