here my scenario: I have a local transparent squid and dansguardian for
content filtering issues working. I was not able to reproduce this bug
in Intrepid.
I started my Laptop and it worked. I established a VPN connection with
the Gnome Network manager and Squid reloaded automatically.
In the meantime you can use tpb instead of hotkey-setup.
It requires its own hacks (see

screen feedback.

A better workaround for me was this: First I created a launcher on the
desktop with the command gnome-panel. Executing it restores the menu
bars. Then I opened System-Preferences-Startup Applications and added
gnome-panel and gnome-wm. After restarting the machine everything seemed
normal.

Just after upgrade, if I wrote gG: ubuntu in the location bar, it would
search for gG: ubuntu, which is not the desired result. The desired

published to ubuntu so you probably got it somewhere else but that
doesn't really matter now since that's working
