There has been a confusion between the libnet0 and libnet1 packages on
Ubuntu. I have personally investigated this bug now and found that there
is no problem with libnet-1.1.x, but rather the libnet0 package, which
is libnet-1.0.2a.

Karmic died black screen three times this morning in the last hour, one
each with 2.6.31-2 update as of 9 am EST 20090708, 2.6.31-1, 2.6.30-10.
That's all from the same boot and all from the latest gnome gdm. Same
pc as in original bug description. Common factor is the latest karmic
gnom

I can't even find alarm-clock version 0.9.18-3ubuntu0.1 in synaptic. It
only shows 0.9.18-3. I'm very sure I have the jaunty-proposed repository
enabled. I installed the .deb package from
http://www.getdeb.net/release/4294 and now it works just fine! Why isn't
this package in the main repository?
