However, in my experience, the GDM login prompt does not always show on the
secondary monitor.
What actually determines its positioning is the current location of the mouse
cursor.

more, and soon devkit-disks will directly use udev as well, so that
devicekit will go away entirely. This shuold happen before Karmic. So

It is very easy to hit ctrl+q instead of ctrl+w and close all for
example 20 tabs in 4 windows at once.
Or perhaps: allow ctrl+q but ALWAYS for confirmation? In addition ask
on closing multiple tabs, but that warning can be disabled.

/usr/share/gdm/themes/Human/background.png is part of the ubuntu-gdm-
themes package, so I believe it belongs there. (I marked the bug as
confirmed as there was a second reporter).

I experienced a similar bug a while back on Hardy. It stopped once I
upgraded to Intrepid. The workaround for a wrong resolution is not to
reboot the machine but hit CTRL+ALT+Backspace to restart the display
manager - only takes a second or two, and fixed it every time.

I have a dmesg output from boot through suspend and it's subsequent
resume failure.
To answer some questions in earlier comments (although they were
directed at someone else):
- This lock up + disk I/O errors happens on every suspend/resume I've tried
which is about 4 times total in a
Closing, as the fixed version has been in Karmic for some time

Hello,
ubuntu 9.04 amd64 installed cleanly on amd64 PC runs very slowly.
Sometimes it runs ok, sometimes everything runs very slow - firefox, and all
other programs.
Example: after clicking Home Folder it can take over 30 seconds before
it opens.

Hi Jim,
I used CDROM when I installed 9.04, what did u use last time? What model
is your laptop and wireless? Everything is running so well under 8.10 I
am wary of upgrading again.

Have you tried Compiz Fusion Icon ?
I used to have a blinking screen problem in 8.10 while playing video under
compiz, and I switched to metacity
when I needed to play a video using Fusion Icon.
