I just installed "console-tools" to see whether this problem exists in
this package, too. And it does. The setting "BLANK_TIME" is completely
ignored and is set internally to 10 minutes. This seems to be set in the
kernel (see linux/drivers/char/console.c). The "setterm" workaround
works, however.
Hi,
This will be fixed in Karmic, with version 1.3.0-1

In fact, this is not a bug at all.
The -virtual and -server in Intrepid had identical configurations apart
from a big stack of modules that were disabled in -virtual, since they'd
never be useful in a virtual environment anyway. So, instead of building
two identical kernel images, Ben added the co

Hi Micah,
yes, the audio is perfectly ok with any other application, music and movie
player for example.
The problem is only related to Flash.
Another detail which just jumped in my mind is that initially I had some
problem with Pulse just because, as I mentioned in the error
description, I chan

I can confirm the behaviour with slow refreshes for some 60-90 sec in my
case. Disabling Compiz got Karmic up and running again.
To be able to activate Compiz again I first had to supress autostart of
Awn.
Temporary solution:
sudo mv ~/.config/autostart/awn.desktop ~/.config/autostart/awn.desktop
Bug seems to be fixed in Jaunty and can be closed.

As mentioned in the bug report

I cannot confirm this. I have installed linux-backports-modules-jaunty,

In support forums, I have both heard people where the backports fixed
the issue, and some where they didn’t. So there seem to
