Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately I already fixed my problem using
the mini.iso and with the use of a network cable. So the solution is
something like you described in a way. Therefore I think the problem is
the CD/DVD drive.

- After booting the laptop, when PXE has done it's magic, I didn't have
to select acpi=off or noapic, just hit return.
- This will take you to the text based installer. There's an alternate
approach using a live CD image, I didn't try that, though. Instead, I
selected "Ubuntu De

booted into. I've sometimes gotten mythbuntu.desktop picked, other
times xterm.desktop and other times xfce.desktop.
So the only workaround that I can see with the current package is to

No matter what kernel I used the only one issue worked for me.
>From log file it's true to know that ncq hdd feature doesn't work in
AHCI mode. So the solution is disable ncq.
Do it by adding to kernel string "libata.force=noncq" in
/boot/grub/menu.lst.

I just noticed, that evolution mapi is still version 0.26.0.1-0ubuntu2
in ubuntu 9.10alpha3 where every other component of evolution is version
2.27.4-0ubuntu1.
