Seems that this has not been resolved yet ... not trying to beat a dead

I have three machines I used:
Laptop:
- Ubuntu 9.04 i386 (clean install)

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
anything that makes compositing come into play, makes for hard
tearing/flicker effects, where 1/3 - 1/2 the screen jumps and wraps
round to the other egde... this can also be seen when writing text into
editboxes..

My laptop is Lenovo G410 and I am using ZTE AC2726 (EVDO) as modem for
updating the packages from internet, I just make it connecting since
Ubuntu 9.04 can't detect the modem automaticaly.
