I confirm that this is evince's fault. It currently hardly manages to
print just about any PDF correctly, either it spawns a gs which doesn't
ever finish, or it produces broken printouts. I downgraded to jaunty's
evince, and everything works fine again.

I tracked down the problem. When I tried to connect with a seperate
frontend, it was dying complaining that the server timezone was
different - BST instead of Europe/London. So I checked, and

Yes - I discovered this after rebooting (it wasn't automatically
applied).
However, the problem persists. If I suspend from the System / Shut Down
menu and resume, I don't get asked for a password using my normal login.

it locks the screen on suspend; if you remove the applet from gnome-
panel and suspend from the System / Shut Down menu, it doesn't lock the

I was on Ubuntu 8.04 (Sudio) - When I upgraded throught LTS to 8.10,
What do you mean by where does it come from?. I comes from me some
time ago.
Why classify as low? Is it because the sql backend isn't supported?

The problem is that many of those assigned key codes have a value 255,
which X.org cannot process yet. Please see bug 313514 for details. So
far the only workaround is to only use keys from the 0..255 range, e. g.
PROG1.
