I have the same problem with an Acer Aspire 5810T laptop (with
integrated Intel graphics card). It worked fine with 9.04, but just
after upgrading to 9.10 the Xorg cpu problem appeared.
- Logging out and logging in again doesn't have any effect
- Killing Xorg process doesn't have any effect

So I updated to Karmic Koala, and the problem still persists. Today I tried
another experiment: when it resumes and displays the password dialog, I tried
attaching a USB mouse to the laptop. And it worked! The pointer started moving
in response to the USB mouse, even though the touchpad

I am on a 32 bit system and also affected. How can I produce more debug output?
I can't compile the c file mentioned in the previous post - and I doubt that it
would help, since I am neither on an 64 bit system nor do I have an old cpu.
Creating a new Profile doesn't help either.

9.04 to 9.10. The 9.04 installation was a complete re-partition and
install on an Acer Aspire one, so it's possible that the remains of the
toy Linux distro it came with caused the confusion; also possible is

the details about it, it claimed that the version had been corrected.
However it installed again the 8.3.5.which caused the same failure

During the upgrade from Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10, this bug appears at the end
of the process, pointing out that tex-common cannot be updating.

working normal, however, it did not want to shut down properly so had to
shut it down by holding the power key. Next time I turned it on I've got
