For example, I download a zip file with firefox and try to open it from
firefox's download manager. I get a dialog asking to choose an application to
open "file" links. The same thing happens if you click on "open folder
containing the file
I expect that you also got all the updates after the fresh install? The
'medium' probably relates to the number of people reporting this particular
bug maybe.

Regarding 100% CPU usage and the system freezing/hanging when on battery
power - I could see that when this happens, there are lots of w, pidof
and killall processes. When I connect again to AC power, the system
calms down again.

Same problem for me on Jaunty (2.6.30 custom) or Karmic (2.6.31) with the built
in cam on a Lenovo T400.
Cheese and Skype are over exposed and have slow framerate ~5fps. However

It could be all of linux, alsa-lib, and pulseaudio. The sound driver
(linux) needs to hint the default sampling rate. The userspace library
(alsa-lib) needs to specify the correct default sampling rate. You
could be encountering the MMX issue in PA.

I have this too, and it indeed happens relatively random with full CPU
(and also when I start it manually, so different from #395190). I just

I can confirm that the firefox-3.5 package for Karmic has weird font
rendering. On a lot of pages, the font is simply too small or is not

Hi,
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 on Dell XPS M1530, and I've not been able to
connect, or even find a wireless accsses point, after a upgrade to 9.10.
It worked just fine under 9.04.
I can see some information regarding this in dmesg, but I'm unsure what
parts are relevant, pleas
Can anyone confirm that this is still an issue in Karmic? Given the lack
of response here, I'm assuming the bug has not been fixed, but before I
continue to use an operating system version that is now over a year old,
I figured I'd double check.
Also, if there is a workaround or any alternate tool

I use Arch Linux, however this information should hold true regardless
of the distribution.
In the kernels <= 2.6.31 suspend would always fail to wake
up/spawn/resume for me. If I was lucky I would get video, but that would
be followed by all applications segfaulting due to I/O Errors.

Here is an attempt to fix this problem:
in debian/rules, instead of „dh_installdirs” we should use
„dh_installdirs -A”
