OK the iceape-dev patch that is in this debdiff is the one from a
newer version of pcmanx-gtk2 in Debian instead of reproducing the
majority of that patch I made a very small patch that reverses the
changes that we don't want. I tried to make that more clear in the
changelog as even I got

I had reported anote problem bug#482757, but now I think I am on the same track
that you guys with this problems, after a few numbers of times using win7 -
kubuntu, grub fails. nothing to do, only reinstall!

Now, after some package updates, i can no longer reproduce the strange
behaviour where user can't use the proper driver and root can. That issue is
fixed on my notebook.
Still, some trouble remains:
$ dmesg | grep error

Yes, I'm seeing a similar issue on folders which have video files.
Terminal will list the files but Nautilus will wait continuously trying to
update the folder.
If I switch NautilusEditPreferencesPreview to Never Preview, all
files will display.
I also thought it was mainly folders where files
