At least one of the problems I had was a failing RAM stick.
I could isolate this 100% by swapping it with a perfectly identical machine
running Windows (it immediately started to BSoD all around the place).

Since I had this ipod nano 2nd gen, I had no problem to use it with Amarok.

Otherwise I can reproduce it by starting a bunch of torrents and
switching back and forth between workspaces until it crashes.
I tried installing all related -dbg packages but it didn't produce

Yes, right-click + safely remove spins down the disk (and removes it
from the list), clicking the Eject icon does not.

Yes you run it in a terminal.
You would add it in the /etc/pulse/default.pa anywere, end of the file
would work just fine.

When I initialize 9.10, my first USER login works fine. If I leave the
first user logged in and open a second one, the next user has no audio
available on anything... including mouse clicks, O/S sound effects and
audio playback (all formats).

magically disappeared after reinstalling VirtualBox additions... This
