When I suspend to ram/disk and reboot my pc, fancontrol doesn't use the config
file in /etc/fancontrol.
Killing and restarting fancontrol solves the problem.

i believe that this and other misleading errors have been fixed in
cryptsetup 1.0.7~rc1. from the changelog:
* Summary of changes in subversion for 1.0.7-rc1:

* Check device size when loading LUKS header. Remove misleading error
message later.

The syslog appears to me to indicate that some permissions do not allow
the password to be recovered after a disconnect event as it eventually

I am sorry that this didn't work! For me it worked in 3 different
computers... maybe the situation is not the same. You should try the
Mark Abene solution.
However you can access your files using the process described in

So that patch of Oliver Neukum that seems to work. How do you install
it/how does it work?
