to Netbeans 6.8, using the installer from their website, so no longer
using the Karmic package. I guess that means that it's an OpenJDK

There are several places in the transmission interface where 0 implies
unlimited such as all the speed limiting settings. It would be nice if
these instances were replaced for greater clarity.

The five reboot thing didn't work for me.
However, I logged in by failsafe, then disabled all startup applications
and I was able to login normally. I then systematically re-enabled the
startup applications one by one. The ones that hung up the startup were
third party apps:
