Sorry for the delay of this reply.
What do you exactly mean that Ubuntu-it menu can't be configured to English?
Ubuntu-it Menu is an italian-specific firefox extension that is shipped with 2
locales: italian (it-IT) and english (en-US).
Firefox will automatically choose the correct locale.
From the DpkgTerminalLog.txt, this looks strongly unrelated to the
a52dec package. It rather seems that your hard disk is failing. I
therefore strongly assume that your hardware is failing and am therefore
setting this bug to invalid.

[Hewlett-Packard Compaq Presario CQ50 Notebook PC] suspend/resume failure
[non-free: nvidia]
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/451620
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: cups
When printing from Mac OS X onto a CUPS server under Kubuntu, the print
quality is very degraded.
The result looks like an artisanal black and white rasterization.
In /var/log/cups/error.log, one can read:
W [23/Jan/2010:13:18:50 +0100] [Job 104]
This is because the ubuntu-logo theme implements the display_password
callback, but not the display_question callback.
