The card is obviously detected, and your mixer settings are fine, but do
you mean that you're getting a null/dummy sink through PA?

[945GM] black screen after GRUB, ubuntu unusable
At Beta 2 level, with i915.modeset=0, I'm getting the hardware
wedged error so often I can't even do a launchpad Add comment. This
is i845 with Lucid 20100407 updated as of 8 April.
I can do ssh in and do sudo service gdm stop so Ubuntu isn't
completely dead, it just can't run Gnome gdm any

beating the tar out of Xorg. I switched to a virtual terminal (where top
very strangely claimed that IT was taking over an entire core), killed

libpam0g fails to install on upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10
From those logs the problem is that the i915 kernel module isn't
detecting any outputs connected - it doesn't think the VGA is connected,
which your working Xorg.0.log shows you have connected.
If possible, it would be interesting to get the output of dmesg after
booting with the “drm.debug=0x04”

Activating the degraded array is done only if the root fs is not found,
and only if the mdadm package was configured via debconf to do so.
There is nothing wrong with this per se, the problem is that the second
disk is automatically added back into the array by mdadm --increment.

Just tried Ubuntu 10.4 Beta2. I burned it to CD at the slowest speed.
The error message did not appear, but it still stops before the desktop.
Could someone just provide me their gut instinct as to whether I
should even try 10.4 LTS or just go to Linux Mint 8 - which I have

[Dell Studio 1537] temperature sensors and fan stop working following
suspend/resume
I do not have the sound muted problem with the normal desktop Totem
(Movie Player), but every time I open a file with the totem-mozilla
plugin, the sound is muted. Changing the volume in the plugin, closing
it, and starting it again has the volume re-muted.
The install of Lucid I have is from

Lucid won't help you here, you seem to be unable to load my driver
(actually a set of modules, three mine, rest from mtd subsystem), and it
seems not to work.
