I upgraded virtualbox to its latest version 3.1.6 and addition of guest
additions works perfectly.
The version of virtualbox on which it was crashing was 3.1.4. I was
running ubuntu 9, win7, opensolaris all on 3.1.4 and they were finding
fine.

Even after upgrading to version 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu3, I had to do
the workaround for thunderbird to work again. I Removed the .thunderbird
symlink in my home directory and mv .thunderbird.upstream to
.thunderbird.

Aha, I think I have a reliable way to reproduce this. Remove the SD
card, reinsert the SD card. The hex code "error" I get seems to
correspond to the UUID of the drive that just got reinserted.

To further confirm this, I have copied libphonon.so.4.4.0 from my
Mandriva install on to my Kubutnu install and retained my rebuilt xine
backend.
Pulseaudio support in phonon is now working more or less correctly:
kcm-phonon shows Pulseaudio output devices instead of ALSA devices

I can confirm that all is working now (as of 2010-04-15), This includes

Please note that the previous file alsa-info output was without the
package from the PPA, the current file I am attaching was run after
installing this package from ubuntu-audio-dev PPA:

Gmail in chromium and firefox 3.6 now supports drag and drop of
attachments.
It works fine from nautilus -- drag an image over a compose page and you

Still no good. I've installed the package gears and its dependencies,
but GMail offlineimap does not work and claims to require Gears
installation still. Upon installing gears as a Firefox plugin, I get:
"Google Gears" could not be installed because it is not compatible with
your Firefox build typ
Which window manager are you using and which video driver do you have?
