one way to work around the problem is to change evince settings to scale
the page.
maybe the reporter changed this evince setting and assumed the problem
was fixed when it was only a changed evince setting.
the workaround is in evince, print-page handling-page scaling=shrink
to printable area.

Hi Maris. I don't think there's a good way to use
$VIRTUALENV_USE_DISTRIBUTE because that would still require users to
modify their environment to get anything useful on Lucid. I've linked a
branch which keeps $V_U_D and --distribute, but enables them by default
