I'm experiencing this on my desktop. top says that virtual memory usage
is stable at about 374m. The desktop doesn't have a UPS attached to it,
however I did for some time have a wireless mouse/kb attached, and it
was tracking that battery. I disconnected the mouse, because it is

I just tried again to suspend my laptop computer by closing the lid --

I might be affected by this bug as well.
Apart from the laptop getting really, really hot, symptoms include CPU
frequency down scaling once the laptop gets too hot which results in
really poor performance. The CPU stops scaling up and stays at 800 Mhz.

This is a bug in the preinst script of the Lucid package. It
specifically calls /usr/bin/db4.7_upgrade but the DB environment is 4.8.
You can work-around the problem for the upgrade by temporarily
redirecting /usr/bin/db4.7_upgrade to db4.8_upgrade:
sudo -i
cd /usr/bin
mv db4.7_upgrade
I have removed BT soft from 10.04 and installed BT soft from 9.10.
MX5000 works fine now.
I must say tho this is quite faux pass.

I have the same problem, with Acer Travelmate 6292. It seems the kernel
doesn't recognize the internal bluetooth chip. The Bluetooth button on
the laptop only triggers Increase Brightness, instead of actually
activating bluetooth. It worked well in Ubuntu 9.04.
