I have a similar problem with proprietary nvidia dirver(195.36.24 from
repository), but system hand on Xorg startup. I began think that this is
hardware problem, but one guy told me to update the driver to 265, and
it works. Also, he said that the problem may be caused by incorrect
loading

I have an Acer Revo R1600 with one of these wireless devices. Out of
the box, Lucid's driver didn't work. To fix it, I created an empty file
in as described in #12 and elsewhere. It works for me.
I don't have the machine at hand to check exactly what I did, but I do
have the output of dmesg.
