I solved the problem, it has two related bug reports here, but I can't
find them anymore.
The problem was that apparently fdisk has a bug, which lets it create
partitions which are 1 cylinder larger than the disk.
If you install raid on such a system anything could happen. The raid will not
star
0.8.1 was uploaded to maverick some time ago. Could someone please
confirm whether the signal level appears correctly with the wl wifi
driver now?

this worked for me:
sudo apt-get autoremove --purge gnome-codec-install
no complains, although rhythmbox still plays wma files.
i guess if you want to play a file with a new codec now, you have to reinstall
the packet first:
sudo apt-get install gno

I was having the same issue so I try this:
$ sudo start-stop-daemon --stop --name cpufreqd
$ sudo cpufreqd -D -V 7
That started the cpufreq daemon and print how the rules were evaluated.
So I find out than the problem is in the temp sensors. The sensors always shows
50ºC (122ºF) which is wrong
Any updates? Will this be incorporated into Maverick release?

my alsa-info report is attached. I have just tried this with google-talk and
the internal mic will not remain seperated once i start the program so there
is no output, I tried the fix shown here:

OK. I am giving up for today to try and reproduce this with the 'log
out' applet. It has given no error after an hour of intensive switching.
I will use it from now and give feedback if the problem reproduces.

upgrading system bug appeared but also when installing software it
always says failed because of Java

The above results are with 28/8 maverick ISO (i386). Same result, I can
get a working connection despite /sys/devices/platform/sony-
laptop/wwanpower shows 0.
I'll post the same results with the latest kernel from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ installed in my 10.04
64bit.

I can open both of the files attached to this bug, with and without
poppler-data installed, on Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" alpha 3 32bit
updated to the same package versions as in comment #6.
I get the following when I open the second file via the terminal:

and data/new.menu.in file, thus making the localization of the affected strings
not work.

It seems that menu-cache doesn't read /usr/share/locale-langpack where
