I was having this same problem mounting one, older, machine, but not any
of the others. I found that specifying proto=udp in the mount options
seemed to fix it. Not sure why this was necessary with that older
machine and not with the others.

Could you retry this with compiz running and see if it still happens.

I'm not sure if I'm having this particular issues but Maverick RC shows
only the boot screen after logging out and no keyboard input appears on-
screen. When I ctr+alt+del the it shows it shutting down and the
computer restarts as expected. I'm running the stock Intel driver
powering a 945GM

To add more information: i read somewhere the user should be made member of the
fuse group for gvfs to work properly but my newly installed 10.10 didn't add
me as a fuse member, so i added it.

Same issue. I have a Sony Vaio VPCF137F. I installed Maverick RC fresh
and it came up with 800x600. I installed nvidia drivers and on a reboot
the display hangs at plymouth (or the text version). I even tried the
x-swat version of the drivers, same issue. Good to know that an older
