Upgraded to 10.10 Maverick today, and the issue is gone. Screen output
is fine, I am also getting a mouse pointer (i.e. #631494 is also
solved).
Backporting the graphics driver from Maverick would probably solve the
issue also on Lucid.

Added a Xorg.log file from Ubuntu 10.04 with radeonhd driver that work
perfectly at screen native size.
I didn't see many differences between the two, at least from what I understand
(modeline are the same, etc).
I noticed a difference on PixClock, but that's all.

can't drag and drop applications from locations such as /usr/bin onto
the launcher, in fact you should be able to drag any application onto
the launcher to add it, rather than

Just upgraded from Kubuntu 10.04.1 to Kubuntu 10.10, and the bug is
still present. The system freezes so hard that I can't grab any error
log, I have to shutdown with the power button.
