Same problem here. Launching Evolution with disable-eplugin seems to fix
only a part of the problem. Refreshing folders dont works correctly and

Well, that does not do it for me.
But I did play around a bit more, and perhaps these error logs might help.
I started by installing the nvidia-current package.
Then I made sure that the modules nvidiafb, rivafb and nouveau was not loaded,
and then tried to load the nvidia-current module

With a new kernel from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds my
problem was fixed. For my tests I've used 2.6.36-999-generic and had no
more SCSI issues. But I've to use the old kernel where SCSI is not
operable as I'm unable to build VMware modules for the newer kernel.

I am seeing similar results as Elias Julkunen with 2.6.26-rc7 kernel
from mainline kernels. My system is an Acer 3820T-5246 with Core i3-350M
(no GPU). Kernel scheduler Load balancing ticks have dropped from about
120-230 on 2.6.35.x to a range of about 11 to 28. Even with the added
wakeups from
Err that was supposed to be with 2.6.36-rc7 kernel from mainline
kernels...
Also noticing that laptopmode is keeping the hard drive spun down for
the ~5min its supposed to, whereas under 2.6.35 it was spinning back up

i've to come back to this issue as with the new kernel it's becoming even more

lilypond: What is the use case for the standard kile user needing a
music notation program?? I dare say that your default kile user doesn't
want to write sheet music, and those who want to write sheet music will
install lilypond anyways. I don't see

Just bought this notebook and install Maverick 10.10 Netbook Edition. I
can connect without any issue to my Wifi network but sometimes it take
minutes to get a web page / get my mails on Thunderbird. The issue does
not occur on WIndows 7 on this netbook or on other computers

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a
duplicate of bug 631426, so it is being marked as such. Please look
Upgrade and clean install of the Beta and RC version. Did not try the quick fix
yet.
I've read the thread though and it seems that you still keep hearing the click
sounds after applying the fix.

Hmm, might be that the SKU is wrong. I've made a small test package to see if
that's the case:
1) Uninstall any ALSA driver overrides if you have installed those
2) Download and install
http://people.canonical.com/~diwic/temp/alsa-hda-realtek-ignore-sku-dkms_1.0.23.diwic_all.deb
3) Reboot

on my 1201n FN+F8 work only with nouveau drivers. after installing
nVidia drivers FN+F8 is unusable
will ubuntu solve this somewhere in the future?

So, it was what I understood :)
that seems natural to me, the application has no more the focus when you
right click on the apps launcher icon, and then, you don't get the menu
to appear.

right, it doesn't work well under mutter right now,
You can try to use the gnome utility and take a delay of 10s for
instance, and then, exit the place, you should see dialog for saving it
appearing then.

Same problem here.
Clean install of Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 (The full release version, with all
updates applied as of 12 October 2010.
Installed nvidia drivers, after a reboot the ubuntu theme has gone and
is replaced by the default gnome theme (which is quite ugly).
It is possible to get it working
The package seems to be in the official archive[1]. Do you download the
packages from an alternative archive?
It may have been out of sync. Try the official package archive, run
`sudo apt-get update` and see if it can be installed.
