I can confirm the memory leak described by simply in comment #6 -- I
have two keyboard layouts configured and just switching between them

I see this problem too, but it isn't cured by a restart. Package files
are somehow getting corrupted by acng, and this on two separate
installations. I have to go in and clear out the old files from the
cache to fix it.

From that trace, VLC is _not_ crashing. It's aborting because the X
server disconnected it.

It was pointed out to me today that bug #539441 was reintroduced in
maverick, so I have reuploaded the maverick package with the fix for
that. Attached is the diff from the last upload to this one. This change
was well tested on Lucid and its omission in maverick was simply an
oversight.

When I add the ignore_db=1, there is no working recording. Only
removing it and reinserting the module-alsa-source line will work.

Not experienced with Ubuntu, but I just experience these problems when
having used Universal USB Creator under windows, while I had no problems
when I created the bootable with unetbootin from Fedora. May that be a
problem in Universal USB Creator?

Nevermind, I had disabled KMS. Once I enabled it (radeon.modeset = 1), I
see radeon_pm_info and everything else. GPU Temperature at 62C and Fan
at 3287 RPM after setting power_method profile/auto as mentioned
earlier. Will monitor and provide feedback..
