Thank you, the driver name='qemu' type='raw'/ change solved the problem. It
works with the latest libvirt (0.7.5-5ubuntu27.6).
It was my mistake then, to use a deprecated option. IMHO it would help a lot if
the libvirt documentation were more comprehensive.

Yep, its was definitely related to the Nvidia 460 gtx cards. I added the
following repository and the error has stopped:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
...and then I was finally able to add the nvidia 256 drivers through
system-administration-hardware drivers instead

I had the same thing with a GM45 (according to the Xorg log). I'm not
sure whether the nvidia driver appeared during or after the upgrade to
Maverick. Removing nvidia-current fixed GL.

I see that i have an older kernel than i expected. (synaptic claims
2.6.35.22.23) i will reboot and see what happens.

Same here: Virgin install on N510 with RTL8192 (r8192e) WLAN chipset:
List of wireless networks seen, no association possible. Logs look the
same as in the original post.
WLAN not working is a complete blocker on N510 as of now.

When I run faad on amd64 with the command line faad -b 2 -f 2 -q -w
AAC2AC3Temp.aac (-b 2 indicating 24 bit output), I get a segmentation
fault in fwrite. The same command on the same data works fine in a 32
bit system.
