The issue is still reproducible with the same simple steps:
- Enable Suspend PC when lid is closed
- Close lid
- Re-open lid, hit power button
The system comes back up, but the screen does not. It stays dark (as in,
background light turned off - not the same as if all shown pixels are black).

I'm experiencing a similar bug: After the update of the 12. December X
failed to start, I got a black screen and the keyboard didn't respond. I
removed the xorg.conf file (thus changing from the fglrx to the radeon
driver) and this resulted in following behavior: still a black screen

i have started shotwell with SHOTWELL_LOG=1 but nothing interesting in
the logfile.. things the error happens before shotwell writes the log..
the 2 files in the last lines are 0 byte .jpg files.

How to replicate this bug.
It appears to me that the problem is created when right clicking on a folder
and choosing /Open With/Other application/ when the choice you want is not in
the default list. In Ubuntu 10.10 the check-box Remember this application for
folder files is checked off by
I chose ThomasNovin's solution because I didn't want to give up my repo.
