Had a cd of Quake 2 in my drive, which is a dual Game and Audio CD; when
I launch Rhythmbox it crashes after a few seconds. Removing the cd from
the drive fixes this problem.

out of nsswitch.conf and they were all gone again. I was optimistic,

There was a new Ubuntu partial upgrade so I did it, nautilus UI is a
different, but the problem persists, the temporary solution is to kill
nautilus with pkill command then to launch nautilus with --no-desktop
argument.
And when I launch nautilus within the terminal, the errors are more
precise :

unrelated component. This group is standard and the installation script

Just got the update (I assume current?) and find the patch of comment 15
has been included for umount.c but nothing appears to have been done to
fstab.c to prevent NULL names being passed through (along the lines of
my patch of comment 9 above).
This, I assume, explains why Etienne Goyer still
