Nahomar, unfortunately the screenshot is only partially useful as it is
missing the top of the trace. Also it would be good if you can provide
more details in general. Did you install from the release or later point
release CDs? Have you updated the system (iow what kernel version are
you using)?
Everything has been working fine since I upgraded from Hardy to Gutsy
... and Natty doesn't trouble me with this bug either. There could (!)
be a problem with the nv drivers in Natty, too, regarding compiz - but
that's a different story I'd say.
I would close this bug or mark it obsolete for all
Darn: An edit-button would be nice to have here. One cannot upgrade
from Hardy to Gutsy - I meant upgrade from Hardy to Intrepid. Sorry.

an update from my side.
I've added the ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates repo and updated my system (it
actually only updates libva and nvidia-settings packages). However since then
(after a reboot) I didn't experience the mouse problem any more.
At least so far... :)

Update
The Transmission problem may have been caused by my WD HDD.
Apparently WD screwed up the firmware.
Some of the symptoms seem similar to my problem.

You cannot prevent people from installing programs that have no
