Within the last months, I've spent (wasted) several full workdays just

some accounts, rather than having Lernid crash directly with an
unauthorized error, according to my testing. In this situation the

It would be useful if 3rd party code could easily detect whether a user
is using ecryptfs. This is important in the accountsservice root daemon
and user programs like gnome-control-center.
Something that took a user name and quickly returned either 0 or 1 for

Using ssize_t doesn't help 32bit systems as ssize_t is only on 64bit
systems larger than an int.
Either way, the issue should be fixed in a newer release of APT, see LP:
#250909 and debians APT version 0.7.26~exp6 for details. It might be
possible that this is not completely fixed for everyone
I can reproduce this as well on Oneiric fully updated (as of today)
