I found the culprit of these errors: installation disc was damaged. I reinstall
Ubuntu using a new cd. The fix was very simple but took me 5 day and 4 nights

Mushy/blurry/jagged
Unfortunately the latest kernel doesn't even boot on my computer. It
gets stuck after loading initrd. So far the cause is unknown that is why
I am still running 3.0.0-11.

This PNG image does not display correctly in Firefox 3.6.23 on Ubuntu
10.04 either. It also does not display correctly in Internet Explorer 8
on Windows. In both cases there is just a thin line of static running
down the left edge of the screen.

Bug also bites me. Running oneiric amd64 from today with unity
4.20.0-0ubuntu2. See attached screenshot. Unfortunately, I cannot
reproduce it. Maybe its related to suspend2ram ... sometimes I see it
after a suspend/resume cycle on my Laptop.
